Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: September 2026
What are affiliate links?
An affiliate link is one where, if you click through and go on to book a hotel, flight, or activity, the site can earn a small commission from the booking platform at no extra cost to you. Affiliate programmes are a standard way for independent travel websites to sustain their operations without charging readers or accepting sponsored content.
Current status: ChaseSeasons has not yet finalised any affiliate partnership agreements. Links on this site to platforms such as Booking.com and Expedia currently go directly to those platforms' own search results and do not carry any affiliate tracking — we earn no commission from them today. We intend to formalise affiliate relationships as the site develops, and this page will be updated the moment any agreement is in place, naming the specific programme and how it affects the links on this site.
Which affiliate networks do we intend to work with?
We are evaluating affiliate programmes operated by platforms including Booking.com, Expedia, Awin (whose merchants include lastminute.com), GetYourGuide, and Viator. None of these are confirmed partnerships — the list reflects our intended monetisation model, not a current commercial relationship with any named company.
If and when a link on this site does carry affiliate tracking, it will behave and look the same as any other external link. We do not use, and will not use, deceptive link-cloaking techniques.
Does commission affect our rankings or editorial content?
No, and today the question is moot in practice since we don't yet earn commission from any link on the site. As a matter of policy for when affiliate agreements are in place: commission rates will have no influence on how we rank destinations, which season tags we assign, or what we write about any destination.
Destinations are, and will continue to be, ordered by the quality and relevance of their shoulder-season opportunity for UK travellers — not by commission. For more detail on how we maintain editorial independence, see our Editorial Standards page.
Our data is independently researched
ChaseSeasons's seasonal scores, price indices, and crowd indices are derived from publicly available data sources — historical temperature records (Meteostat, NASA POWER), published fare patterns, destination tourism authority reports, and UK school holiday calendars. No affiliate partner has paid for, reviewed, or influenced these data points.
For full details of our data sources, see the Data Sources page.
Regulatory compliance
This disclosure is provided in accordance with the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) guidance on affiliate marketing, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) guidance on online reviews and endorsements, and the FTC's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials (where applicable to international readers).
Every page on ChaseSeasons with links to a booking platform carries a short inline notice stating our current affiliate status for that page's links — today, that they carry no affiliate tracking and earn no commission. The notice will be updated to reflect each partnership as it is finalised.
