Editorial Standards

Destinations are ranked by data, not commissions

The order in which destinations appear on ChaseSeasons — in search results, in recommendation lists, in the budget recommender — is determined entirely by relevance to your stated criteria (budget, trip length, preferred climate) and by the quality of shoulder-season opportunities, as measured by our independently researched price and crowd indices.

We do not accept payment from destinations, tourist boards, hotels, or affiliate networks in exchange for improved placement. No destination has ever paid for a position on this site.

Season tags are derived from data

Every month at every destination is tagged as peak, shoulder, or off-season. These tags are derived from two data points:

• Price index — a normalised measure of typical monthly costs relative to annual average
• Crowd index — a normalised measure of typical visitor volume relative to annual average

Both indices are independently researched (see Data Sources). They are not influenced by affiliate commission rates, seasonal availability on booking platforms, or any commercial consideration.

A month tagged as “shoulder” may generate lower affiliate commissions than the same destination in peak season. We accept this consequence as the right trade-off for maintaining honest, useful information.

ChaseSeasons does not publish sponsored content, advertorials, or paid reviews. Every destination description, seasonal note, and editorial observation is written by our team without input from commercial partners.

Corrections policy

We aim to keep all seasonal data, temperature charts, and editorial content accurate and up-to-date. When we become aware of an error, we correct it as quickly as possible. Our policy:

• Minor corrections (typos, formatting, minor data inaccuracies) are corrected silently on the relevant page.
• Significant corrections (material errors in season tags, price indices, or editorial claims that may have misled readers) are noted directly on the page with a dated correction notice.
• We do not delete or rewrite published content to remove evidence of errors. Where something was wrong and has been corrected, we say so.

To report an error, email privacy@chaseseasons.com with the page URL and a description of the issue. We aim to acknowledge corrections reports within 3 working days.
