ChaseSeasons

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

1. Who we are (data controller)

ChaseSeasons is operated from the United Kingdom. As the operator of this website, ChaseSeasons acts as the data controller for any personal data you provide. For privacy-related enquiries, contact us at privacy@chaseseasons.com.

2. What data we collect

2a. Email address — not currently collected

ChaseSeasons does not currently have any email sign-up feature, and we do not collect your email address by any means today. We plan to introduce an opt-in destination alerts feature in future, requiring your explicit consent via a sign-up form and consent checkbox. Before that feature goes live, we will update this policy to describe exactly what is collected, how it is used, and how to unsubscribe.

2b. Device-local preferences (localStorage)

To personalise your browsing experience, ChaseSeasons stores a small number of preference values in your browser's localStorage:

  • sa_budget — your approximate holiday budget
  • sa_trip_length — preferred trip duration in nights
  • sa_group_size — number of travellers
  • sa_holiday_type — preferred holiday type (e.g. beach, city, culture)
  • sa_saved_destination — a destination you have saved for later
  • sa_school_holidays — whether you're searching around UK school holiday dates
  • sa_region — your UK region, used to show the correct school holiday dates

These values are stored entirely on your own device. They are never transmitted to our servers. You can clear them at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage or site data. They are not cookies and are not subject to cookie-consent rules, but we list them here for full transparency.

3. How we will use your email address, once collected

As noted in Section 2a, we do not collect email addresses today. Once the planned alerts feature is live, we intend to use your email address only for the purpose you consented to at sign-up — typically to send you alerts when shoulder-season windows open for destinations you have shown interest in. Our policy for that feature:

  • We will send destination-specific seasonal alerts and updates only.
  • We will not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • We will not send unsolicited promotional emails from affiliate partners.
  • Every email will include a one-click unsubscribe link, removing your address from all future communications immediately.

The legal basis for processing your email under UK GDPR will be consent (Article 6(1)(a)), withdrawable at any time by unsubscribing (see Section 6).

4. Third-party services

ChaseSeasons does not currently operate any backend database or collect personal data through this website — all destination and seasonal data is built into the site at publish time, and the only data stored about your visit is the device-local preferences described in Section 2b, which never reach our servers. The services below are the ones we use or plan to use; each is, or will be, bound by its own privacy policy:

Website hosting

This website is hosted on Hostinger, behind Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process standard connection logs (IP address, user agent, request timing) as part of providing its network and security services. Cloudflare Privacy Policy

Analytics (planned)

We intend to use Plausible Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-first analytics tool that does not collect or store any personal data or cross-site identifiers. This policy will be updated if that changes. Plausible Privacy Policy

Affiliate networks (Booking.com, Awin partners, Expedia, and others)

As explained in our Affiliate Disclosure, ChaseSeasons has not yet finalised any affiliate partnership, and links to booking platforms currently carry no tracking. If and when a link does carry affiliate tracking, that platform's own privacy policy will apply to any cookies it sets for commission attribution; ChaseSeasons would not receive any personal data from these networks, only aggregate commission reports. Current privacy policies: Booking.com, Awin, Expedia.

5. Data retention

We do not currently collect or retain any personal data. Once the planned email alerts feature is live, addresses captured through sign-up forms will be retained for 12 months after your last interaction with ChaseSeasons (defined as opening an email or visiting the site while signed up), after which the record will be automatically deleted. You will also be able to request immediate deletion at any time — see Section 6.

6. Your rights under UK GDPR

As a UK resident (or EU resident where applicable), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure — ask us to delete your personal data
  • Right to withdraw consent — once the planned email alerts feature is live, unsubscribe at any time via the one-click link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly
  • Right to lodge a complaint — with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@chaseseasons.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to subscribers by email. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
