1. Who we are (data controller)

ChaseSeasons is operated by Trideca Studios Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 17458458), whose registered office is at 82A James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St Edmunds, IP28 7DE, UK. Trideca Studios Ltd is the data controller for any personal data you provide through this website. For privacy-related enquiries, contact us at privacy@chaseseasons.com.

2. What data we collect

2a. Email address — not currently collected

ChaseSeasons does not currently have any email sign-up feature, and we do not collect your email address by any means today. We plan to introduce an opt-in destination alerts feature in future, requiring your explicit consent via a sign-up form and consent checkbox. Before that feature goes live, we will update this policy to describe exactly what is collected, how it is used, and how to unsubscribe.

2b. Device-local preferences (localStorage)

To personalise your browsing experience, ChaseSeasons stores a small number of preference values in your browser's localStorage:

• sa_budget — your approximate holiday budget
• sa_trip_length — preferred trip duration in nights
• sa_group_size — number of travellers
• sa_holiday_type — preferred holiday type (e.g. beach, city, culture)
• sa_saved_destination — a destination you have saved for later
• sa_school_holidays — whether you're searching around UK school holiday dates
• sa_region — your UK region, used to show the correct school holiday dates
• sa_travel_dates — the travel dates you entered, so they are pre-filled when you check another destination

These values are stored entirely on your own device. They are never transmitted to our servers. You can clear them at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage or site data. They are not cookies, but UK rules on storing information on your device (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) still apply to them. We rely on the exemption for storage that is strictly necessary to provide a feature you have asked for: each value is only saved when you set it yourself, and is used solely to remember that choice. We use no advertising or tracking storage, so we do not show a consent banner.

2c. When you email us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use this only to reply to you and deal with your request — for example a data correction or a privacy request. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to the people who contact us (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We keep correspondence for no longer than 24 months after the matter is resolved, then delete it, unless we need to keep it longer to meet a legal obligation.

3. How we will use your email address, once collected

As noted in Section 2a, we do not collect email addresses today. Once the planned alerts feature is live, we intend to use your email address only for the purpose you consented to at sign-up — typically to send you alerts when shoulder-season windows open for destinations you have shown interest in. Our policy for that feature:

• We will send destination-specific seasonal alerts and updates only.
• We will not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.
• We will not send unsolicited promotional emails from affiliate partners.
• Every email will include a one-click unsubscribe link, removing your address from all future communications immediately.

The legal basis for processing your email under UK GDPR will be consent (Article 6(1)(a)), withdrawable at any time by unsubscribing (see Section 6).

4. Third-party services

ChaseSeasons does not currently operate any backend database or ask you to submit personal data through this website — all destination and seasonal data is built into the site at publish time, and your preferences (Section 2b) stay on your device. The limited personal data we do handle is the technical information every visit sends to our hosting and network providers, such as your IP address (see Website hosting below), and anything you choose to include if you email us. The services below are the ones we use or plan to use; each is, or will be, bound by its own privacy policy:

5. Data retention

The only personal data we currently keep is email correspondence, held for the period described in Section 2c; our hosting and network providers keep their connection logs under their own retention policies. Once the planned email alerts feature is live, addresses captured through sign-up forms will be retained for 12 months after your last interaction with ChaseSeasons (defined as opening an email or visiting the site while signed up), after which the record will be automatically deleted. You will also be able to request immediate deletion at any time — see Section 6.

6. Your rights under UK GDPR

As a UK resident (or EU resident where applicable), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Right to erasure — ask us to delete your personal data
• Right to withdraw consent — once the planned email alerts feature is live, unsubscribe at any time via the one-click link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly
• Right to lodge a complaint — with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk
