About ChaseSeasons
We built ChaseSeasons because most travel websites have a problem with timing.
Why we exist
When you search for holidays, almost every results page pushes peak season. The photography is sunnier. The featured dates happen to be July and August. The booking buttons appear before you've had a chance to consider whether March might suit you better — and typically cost 25–40% less than the peak.
That's not an accident. Peak season generates higher commissions. And for most big travel sites, higher commissions mean better placement.
We set out to build the opposite: a site where the data does the talking, shoulder seasons get equal billing with peak season, and the booking link comes after the honest timing signal — not before it.
Three things we do differently
1. The shoulder-season finder
Every destination page shows a 12-month heatmap of price index and crowd index side by side. Shoulder months are highlighted — not buried. We surface the specific windows where you get genuinely good weather without peak prices, based on independently researched data rather than promoted content.
2. UK school holiday premium quantification
For UK families, the problem isn't just peak vs. off-season — it's the specific premium that school holidays add on top of an already-expensive peak. We cross-reference destination price indices with UK school holiday calendars (England/Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland) to show you exactly how much the holiday premium costs, and which shoulder windows fall outside school breaks.
3. The Booking Intelligence Badge
Before every affiliate booking link, we show a Booking Intelligence Badge — a clear signal (Shoulder / Peak / Off-season) for the month you're considering. We want you to know exactly what you're booking into before you click through to a partner site. That transparency is the point. If you choose to book peak season with full information, that's a great choice. We just want it to be an informed one.
Our data
ChaseSeasons draws on several independent data sources: historical temperature records from weather stations via Meteostat, publicly available fare patterns, destination tourism authority reports, and official UK school holiday calendars from the Department for Education, Scottish Government, and Northern Ireland Department of Education.

Affiliate model
ChaseSeasons is free to use. Our plan is to sustain the site through affiliate commissions earned when you click through to a booking partner and complete a booking. This will never affect our editorial rankings or data — we describe the rules, and the current status of our affiliate partnerships, in detail on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
